The latest Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) comes into effect as of 25th May 2018 under EU regulation 2016/679. It expands the rights of businesses and individuals to control and have access to their personal information, how it is collected and processes by either “controllers” or “processors” and make those organisation more accountable for the security and management of information.

At Westbourne Motors we are classed as “processors” of information under GDPR and have to make you aware of the reasons we are holding information and give you “the customer” the right to request your information be deleted from our database with confirmation this has been completed.

We currently do and will continue to retain under legal basis (Article 6 of the regulations) the following information on each account for the purposes of invoicing; warranting tracking and potential product recall notices that may be issued to us from OEM’s or parts manufacturers/suppliers.

  • Relevant Business Addresses
  • Contact Phone No
  • Vehicle details including; Make, Model, Registration or VIN
  • E-mail address (where available)
  • Financial details; for business account invoicing
    Or
  • Home address details for individuals invoicing (where applicable)

We currently do not make contact with any of our customers for promotional or event activities undertaken by ourselves.

If this situation was to change however, be assured that the information we currently retain for yourselves will not be used for this type of communication unless, you are specifically asked during your next contact with Westbourne Motors and your consent either electronically or in writing that you are happy to receive this type of communication.

The information we retain is not shared with any organisations outside of Westbourne Motors unless permission is requested and granted by yourselves for the completion of contracted services between yourselves and Westbourne Motors.
